From Guild Wars Support:
Guild Wars requires two names for each character. This will allow greater diversity in the character community and will expand the opportunity for the use of popular names without reserving them for a single individual. When creating a character, type the first name, add a space, and then type the last name. If you wish to have more than two word-sets in a name, such as "Alfred The Great," you can do that by adding a space between two words in the last name. The total number of letters and spaces allowed is 19. Names allow the use of the standard alphabet; no special characters, symbols or numbers can be used. A character with a name, word, or phrase that is offensive or vulgar will be blocked. A blocked character will be inaccessible and unplayable; meaning that all that character's inventory, levels, skills and attainments will be lost when that character is deleted. Players who create a character with a name that results in that character's blocking will receive a disciplinary mark on that account; this means that the player will be unable to play Guild Wars for a specific period of time. |
